I live in New Hampshire and my lease automatically renews each year in May. My landlord indicated she would be raising the rent. (I phoned her at the end of March) I asked her to let me know how much the increase would be as soon as she could. The question....How much notice does a landlord have to give before lease renewal? As of today, I still have not heard from her. We have lived here for 8 years, signed only 1 lease agreement and have never been late on rent. I thought she had to give us a 30 day written notice of increase.
Thanks for the help. I would be happy to look up the info if I knew where to begin. Once again, Thanks!

Click on the tab at the top of the page, marked "State Resources" to look up New Hampshire law.

30 days is customary, but different states may handle the problem in different ways.
