What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? The state is NC but the group health plan is with a multi-employer that has contributions made by employers to the pension, health and welfare trust fund. My question is if trustees of a Pension/welfare Fund can tell members on 11/19/2003 (a day after the effective date) that those who retire after 11/18/2003 and under 57, will have to pay over $500 a month for their health insurance premiums. Also age 57 would cost $250+ an increase of $50 each year. If I am 57, could have retired 4 months ago with insurance of $50 a month and an increase of $50 a month every year compared to $250 and $50 increase a month every year, is this not required to give advance notice or what? I can't retire effective 11/18/2003 if I can't request this until 11/19/2003? I would think legally, some notice would have had to be given?
