I have been receiving long term disability (LTD)for open heart surgery (three months). My doctor completed a form which delineated my current condition(month ago) I received a letter from Aetna LTD department requesting I complete an independent medical evaluation. Am I require to submit to this evaluation; can Aetna cut my payments; what legal options do I have available, and do I contact my own cardiologist?

My response:

Read your insurance policy. It's right there.
