What is the name of your state? Minessota

Can anyone explain the term "Any contact with petitioner direct or indirect" in a harassment restraining order? I am confused about the indirect contact and exactly what that means.

Thanks

direct: fact to face, over the telephone etc

indirect: email, snail mail, telling a friend to run over there and spout off some garbage etc

in other words no contact, no way, no how.

Can you talk to a friend of yours about her for the purposes of getting things off your chest? Sure. Can you ask your friend to go talk to ther for you? No. Can you contact her friends and ask them to "give her a message"? No.

This isn't that complicated.

Thanks. I did not think it was that complicated either. But I have had contact with two different people in law and one agrees with you but the other one says that any contact with any third party person concerning him(her) is a violation of the harassment restraining order. I am just trying to understand.

Thanks

Here's the problem... You go to friend Y and tell him what a bitch your ex is, how she's done you wrong, yada yada yada. Friend Y runs into ex and says "Yo Bitch - Roger told me to tell you you're nothing but a two-bit HO!" (okay, I can't do ghetto speak!) Uuuuuuuuuh you've got a problem. So yeah, your best bet is to just shut up about her to everyone but your therapist.
