My husband & I took our adult children
to Astoria,Or. to go fishing, when we were
at the docks a officer of clatsop county
came up & asked if our boat had ever been
inspected,yes it has,with approval from
the oregon state marine board, with legal
title.It is a 2 boat construction,but not
considered homebuilt.All ID numbers are
there & match, but this guy says it not what
it's suppose to be,whatever that means!We
have given him all copys of reciepts, titles
bills of sales, material reciepts for repair
& construction from one boat to other boat
hull, reciepts for trailer, equiptment on board, motors, the whole nine yards,he's had it for 2 weeks & just keeps comming up with
other things, putting us off. He's already verifyed all Info with the state marine board
& gotten their Inspection report,& still will
not release it to us.Who can we talk to,over & above this guy,or someone who can tell us
our rights in this matter?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

You need to probably speak with a maritime attorney? Admiralty law? Call your state bar association and ask for lawyer referral to someone experienced in this type of dispute, for lack of a better word.
