I live in NY and have been married for 15 years. I just recently discovered my husband was having an affair with
our neighbor. He is retired, drawing a pension, this is
our only source of income. We own our home and a few vehicles, other then a loan to purchase our home, we are
basically debt free. I have not had to work during our
marriage, as my husband's income provided us with enough that I did not have to work. Can I make my husband pay
for an attorney to get a divorce, since I have no income
of my own?

My response:

New York ? Malibu ? Just a little odd.

Anyway, in answer to your question, yes. During your free initial consultation after you've called a Family Law attorney, the attorney will explain this process.

Your husband is going to lose more than he's gaining, from a property and spousal support standpoint - - and will really wish he didn't do this to you. Your attorney will explain that too.

Good luck.
