As the legal wife of an NY State Air National Guard member am I entitled to know the whereabouts of my husband? Or when he might return?
The basic answer is probably "no." If you are asking whether the military must disclose his operational location and/or give you an estimate of when he will be allowed leave, transferred, etc. then the answer is almost certainly "no." I say 'almost' certainly because a guard member may be subject to some special/obscure state law provisions, but in this case I doubt it.
Now, if the military has no objections to your knowing such things but your husband is avoiding you, then you may get some assistance. You can obtain an address at which he can be 'reached' - meaning mail sent there will sooner or later be forwarded to him. If he is trying to dodge some legal responsibility (or avoid being served) the military will probably help you out.
After all, the military doesn't have to tell your husband where he is going (or even where he is!) and doesn't have to make predictions for him of if/when he will be relocating. On the other hand, everyone in the military can be reached via a written address -- but it may be a PO box and not reveal the ultimate destination.
The real question is why you don't know where your husand is -- is it sensitive operational information for the military, or is your husband simply stonewalling you?
