Hi,
Was reading some other posts and saw IAAL's reply about an inheritance, whether it's cash, property or vehicles. This concerns that tractor again. So it brings up some new questions.
1. What constitutes an inheritance, does it have to be left to someone specifically in a will ? does the fact that we just decided to bring it back here and I think he gave his brothers payment for it, at least on paper, mean it's not an inheritance ? This was part of the estate I geuss, life insurance, stocks, and house sold and divided eqaully , other belongings were just given to whoever wanted them.
2. Is North Carolina a community property state ?
3. If my husband signed a "quit claim deed" to my home last year can he later claim he wants half the value if he gets angry with me ? It was mine before he came but he did sign this after we separated so I could do whatever I wanted to with it legally without needing his permission to do so.
4. How long does he have to leave this thing sitting and neglected on my property before I can say it's mine ?
Thanks again for your time guys . Oobie
