What is the name of your state? Texas
I recently inherited some money and would like to invest it my husband is on Social Security our only source of income and he has qualified for assisitance with his Medicare Part D because our income is very low my question is can I invest this money and it not affect his qulification for the extra help.
Please advise

The problem with DD's answer is that your husband CURRENTLY qualifies for the medically needy program with your state. That program DOES depend on income INCLUDING an inheritance. There are other ways to obtain Rx's for those on SS & Medicare. This inheritance is a change in your assests; therefore, must be reported.
