What is the name of your state? NY

My wife fell at work (wet/ slimy floor without sign) and badly!!! injured her knee.

She hurt the same knee at work previously (not a slip/fall accident) and got pushed around by workers comp for many months while "awaiting to have surgery authorized" that she had to go back because we just couldn't afford it any longer.

We really don't want to go through the same thing again - and really can't afford it as we are still paying back debt that we made while they took their sweet time the last time.

Does this sound like a case we should pursue through an attorney/ in court ("sue the employer"??). What kind of lawyer should we look for/ what type of case is this (personal injury?).
This isn't supposed to be a "get rich by sueing" scheme - we are just looking to recover what my wife would earn if she'd be at work. Is this how a case like this would look like or not ? (if worth pursuing)

We are not "suehappy" people so have no previous experience with anything like this. Just simple people trying to make a living.

It however seems unfair that we should end up paying for the employers negligence and my wife ends up without a big part of her paycheck/ goes without proper treatment while workers comp "awaits authorisation".

Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.: I originally had typed more but after i hit submit the forum told me i had to sign in again - so i had to type it all up a second time. I probably forgot half of what i wrote the first time. LOL If there are any additional Q's just ask....
Thanks in advance.

I would have your wife submit a WC claim. You might also want to obtain the services of a WC attorney to help see that your wife gets any benefits to which she is entitled.
