What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Montana

I opened and microwaved one of those Campbell's Chunky New England Clam Chowder soups. It was one of the one's in a ready to microwave bowl. I ate about half of it and the next bite I took, something sharp slid across the roof of my mouth. I spit the contents of my mouth out to find what looks like a shard of clam shell. It sliced the roof of my mouth about and inch and a half. I left it alone for a day now, but it's terribly painful, and I think it's infected. I can't even eat or drink, it really hurts. What should I do? I'm thinking of going to the hospital tomorrow after the storm here clears up.

Oh please. Rinse your mouth with salt water a couple of times a day and you will be fine. If it's REALLY bad, use some orajel.

Clam shell is a naturally occurring object in clam chowder. No lawsuit, even if you HAD damages, which you don't.

If it was that bad, you should've had it checked by your doctor or dentist right away. A little bit of pain a whole day later does not constitute a lawsuit.

Oh yeah you can drink lots of strong black tea, too. The tannins in it help heal wounds in your mouth, it's very soothing. Good for wisdom tooth surgery too. There's also something called Gly-oxide that you can get from the drug store, I've never tried it myself but my dad (a dentist) has recommended it for things like this in the past.

Not a money grubbing idiot like you two...

I'm not looking for a lawsuit... A few of us are still left that are just looking for what right. I want to know that if my daughter were to be eating something like this that she wouldn't choke to death on an FDA regulated product. My question is more what is the best way to go about reporting this so it is actually checked into, not just ignored by Campbell's. As far as 'you can't fix stupid'.... wow, way to put your time and effort into insulting those you don't know. You must lead a very important life. I just wanted advice on how to stop this from really injuring someone.

As for reporting it, contact the Campbell's company. They will likely offer you some coupons for some free products.

As far as 'you can't fix stupid...'
This is what you call a "signature line". Many people on this fabulous thing called the internet have them. It is not directed at you, my fellow Montanan.

These things happen, you can't prevent it from happening to someone else.

Grow up.

Seriously.

Clam shells are a NATURAL PART OF CLAMS. There is no way they could change anything in the factory to make it a 0% chance that it will ever happen again. Don't eat with your eyes closed, pay a little attention in the future.

Oh lighten up, Frances. That's a signature line, it wasn't directed at you.

You can also go here to get it ignored by the FDA: www.fda.gov

Rinse your mouth out with some hydrogen peroxide. Try holding it up to the cut in your mouth for a few seconds.

Rinse with water after you spit this out.
