I fell at work and filled out a report that same day. I thought I had just jammed my arm and did not request a doctors appointment until a week later when the pain was getting no better. I went to the doctor and he looked at my arm, sent me for xrays and sent me to work with a paper saying not to use that arm. They worked me on light duty for two weeks until my next doctors appt. I went back to the doctor and told him that the arm did not hurt near as much but it still hurt. He said he was releasing me. I questioned him as to what would happen if I started using the arm again and the pain resumed. He told me the xrays came back normal and that there was nothing more he could do for me. I went back to work and worked two days and told them I needed to go to a specialist since the arm was still in pain. I would like to know what steps happen next. Also do they have to reimburse me for my doctors appointments if they are after my regular work schedule?

Usually a Dr.must reccomend you to a specialist. What kind of specialist do you think you need to see.If the xrays are negative I guess the Dr.feels you have a sprain or bruise. Is that the diagnoses. As for the visit to to Dr.you may get a couple dollars for travel.Unless the company agrees to let you go during work hrs. and get paid, thats the only way you will get paid.
