What is the name of your state? California

Myhusband was sent to C.I.M Chino prison, when he arrived during his processing the c/o took his wedding ring from him. The officer threatened to throw his ring away and this of course upset my husband greatly and he advised the officer no to do that. The officer signed a reciept of some sort (and so did my husband) stating he wanted to send his property home. I got a piece of paper that my husband sent me instructing me to send a money order for $15 with in 30 days so that the prison would send his ring back to me. The prison recieved the money order on October 19th, well within the 30 days. The recording at the prison states that if the inmate is having money sent in to have his things returned that it should take 35-40 days from the arrival date to the prison. It has been well passed the 40 days and I still havent gotten his ring. I have called and left many messages asking for assistance but no one will return my call. Does anyone know if this process takes long than what they say or should I try to take this further? I want his ring back, he will be home soon and I want him to be able to put that ring back on his finger.

Has your money order cleared? With all the forged money orders floating around, they may wait 60 days to make sure it goes through.

I am not certain if it has cleared, the officer I talked to in the mail room told me they did recieve it and it was a postal money order. So I havent filed a claim with the post office to see if it has cleared. Since I followed thier instructions by sending the postal moneyorder I assumed I would be ok.
