WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF THIS HAPPENED TO YOU?
Hello, I don't know what to do about an incident at a local Wal Mart store. My wife, myself and two of my children were shopping and asked for the store to meet a competitors ad price. The clerk screamed out very, very loudly at me in front of many customers that if I could find a price lower than Wal Mart then go, leave, and don't come back to this store anymore. As I walked to the desk to ask for assistance about this issue on the competitors price not being honored the lady clerk openly slandered me in front of my wife, children and the customers present. She told my family "how do you put up with your husbands attitude like he is?" and in front of my children made the remark " I have never in my life seen such a mean person." This was uncalled for, even the CSR desk clerk was humiliated by the actions of the other checkout clerk. The CSRM (customer service relations manager) told the CSR clerk to lie about what the checkout clerk did to us. I wish to file a suit against Wal Mart but I do not know any lawyer that can take the case on its merit as it is. This has all been documented and Wal Mart management has admitted to the wrong but has offered nothing for what happened to us that literally humiliated and slandered my family by the clerk's actions. Would you give me some insight about my problem as far as the legal remedy for this should be? Floyd 901-414-0155 , thank you. What is the name of your state?

There are thousands of posts similar to yours so I have prepared a standard answer:

Get a lawyer.

Invest $20K and three years.

Sue the bad people for defamation.

If you win, expect them to keep doing it.

If you lose, expect them to keep doing it.

Stand by for other opinions.

Wow, I'm surprised Walmart let the cashier get away with that! They always honor comp ads. What a horrible experience.

Floyd, you are overrreacting big time. No lawyer is going to take the case of a guy who was treated rudely at Wal Mart. You've suffered no damages.

Take your business elsewhere.

Treated rudely? At Wal-Mart?! That never happens does it?

The OP might wish to read up on the definition of slander, since what the clerk said, while rude, does not come even remotely close to slander.

Floyd, don't waste your money. I can't stand Wal-Mart but no lawyer is going to waste their time on this. Take your business elsewhere and get on with your life. Please.

I wouldn't have allowed that to happen to me, If I were you, I would contact corporate headquarters and make a formal complaint, and I don't understand why ppl who answer questions have to be so rude? I would also put an ad in the local newspaper, or even call a news station about what happend to you, I think that public awareness might just get you in the right direction. Something similar happend to me at a WalMart store and in the end, the person was fired...They are a union employer but enough exposure worked for me. Good Luck!
