Two years ago my husband and I were involved in an automobile accident in which we were the victims. We got two separate checks, one writen to my husband and the other to the auto repair shop company. We were in a financial hole at the time so we spent the first check on personal needs. But since the second, Larger check wasn't in our name we could not use it. Further more, the company would not repair the car with the amount stated on the second check. Two years have passed and the second check has expired. What we would like to know is, can we get a check reissuance, and can the insurance company reissue it in our name instead of the auto repair shop's name?
