Last year I hurt myself in a skiing accident while I was working at a CPA firm. I ripped a tendon off and needed some surgery but was not an emergency. They wanted to wait for some of the swelling to go down. Also I knew I would be discharged at the end of April. We were really busy there and I scheduled the date for surgery in May. I was told that I would have insurance coverage and everything was already approved. Well, you probley already guessed it. All the medical bills came back denied. The CPA firm is a small firm and did not even have to offer COBRA. Now I have $4,000 in medical bills that I can't pay. What can I do?

you goofed......propbaly nothing except pay it, ya shudda taken time off while you were still employed in April... as long as you were in the hospital, even if you are fired insurance coverge does not end! no lidding they cant.... they will try but once you are admitted insurance cannot be cancelled untill you are discharged, but if you go back next week, for any reason.. it could be denied.
