I reside in Pennsylvania. On Nov. 29, 2000, I sent insured mail to England. Insurance was for 170.00. Item still tracks as being on its way to destination. Two months have passed. On Feb. 3, 2001, I filed for insurance claim with area post office. Initial reply is that they will not honor claim as I cannot prove the value in the piece of mail.I have receipt for insurance purchased and a history of contact with the person to whom mail was addressed. I believe I can prove the contents, in a reasonable setting. Am I legally permitted to take the Post Office to small claims court? I am familiar with how the court works and have won other claims, years ago. I need reliable advice and will appreciate any response to my email [email protected] CB
