Good afternoon. This question is related to another question I have on your Criminal Law
board, "Prisoner of my Doctor"; by Cochise.

I received a document in the mail today from my health insurance company stating that because they disagree with my Doctor's decision to hospitalize me they will not pay.

The hospital bill is a GREAT amount of money and I cannot pay. I am already on state disability and unemployed. What do I do next? Bankruptcy? My credit is in very good standing and I don't wan't to mess it up.

Please see my other post and thanks for any help you can give.

Cochise.

The bottom line is that it is not likely you can challenge the insurance carrier's decision to disagree with the doctor and deny coverage to you. Why? Because the court representative agreed with you that the admitting doctor was wrong to place you in there under section 5150.

However, you may want to talk with an attorney that handles diability claims since he or she may have another opinion or greater knowledge of this subject. Plus, that attorney may be able to help you with finding a way to pay that bill. You may be able to find one near you by going to attorneypages.com.

To preserve your good credit standing then you most certainly don't want to file for bankruptcy. That destroys it, or at least has a big negative effect on it.

This is not whatI wanted to hear but it sounds logical to me. Looks like I need to give my Attourney a call.

Thank you for your advice.

Take care,

Cochise
