What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

My husband died and when I went to take care of the life insurance, I found out that it had lapsed. Some one suggested that I find out if there is an automatic payout up to 6 months of lapsed payment.
Is this true?
Could you help me please!!!
Thank you!:(What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Though I am sorry for your loss, the answer is no. Assuming this is term insurance, the insurance company does NOT provide coverage beyond the period agreed and PAID.

not disagreeing with the others BUT was the insurance a term policy or a whole life policy? I believe it would make a diff. Possibly the others can step back in and comment.
