My husband was recently laid off due to lack of work in the construction business. As per our insurance coverage we are supposed to be covered by the employer for 30 days after the date of lay off and then offered COBRA.We were cancelled by his employer without notice.I never recieved anything from the employer about COBRA nor did the employer continue to cover us for the required 30 days after the lay off. What do we do? I called the insurance company and we have been cancelled. I then called the employer and the bookkeeper told me were were not covered as of right now , which is still within the 30 day limit.
