Can a power of attorney who has been given powers over estate and insurance transactions change the trustee named in an irrevocable insurance trust while the insured is still alive?
Without reviewing both the trust and the POA paperwork to be sure, I would have to say that generally yes, if someone has a broad POA to act on the behalf of someone, that could possibly happen. However, the trust itself may have wording preventing that from happening...particularly since its irrevocable.
