What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

How does one prove something like this? I mean, its all verbal anyways. Is it something which courts pay attention to? Can grandparents be guilty or whatever appropriate term for it? What if mom is side by side with grandparent?

If there is no Court Orders ,then there is NO legal interference .
The party ( parent ) that wants visitations needs to file a Custody/Visitation Petition with Family Court .

Forms

Or the Court clerks can provide the petition form .

I guess what I am wondering is to what extent another family member can get involved in the rearing of a child (backed by the other parent) with it being reasonable versus unreasonable.

give an example....

I guess other family member watching child for the day (ten hours or so) and gets upset when parent returns and wants to spend time with his child; winds up suggesting that parent has never liked it when OFM spends time with child---- Getting upset when child goes with wife to dad's parent's home, says needs to come home quickly as OFM misses child---- Inteprets dad's opinion that parents are responsible for raising their children as an attack upon OFM extended family. I mean, its kind of crazy, and taken individually... well people can be strange about things and one goes about your business. But when you pull things together, then you start wondering.

They can pretty much instruct there parents to not let you see them if at their house ,and they can deny you.

The parent wanting visits Needs to file for court ordered visits ,if they do not want any interferences.
