I have a judgement and am willing to make payments. Talked to the lawyer and I can only pay about 10-15 dollars a month. When I called for my balance, I was told that a daily interest of 1% is added. How am I supposed to get this paid off? Can I stop the interest? Also, lawyer want my ss# and I refused to give it to him and he said he would take me to court...I am not trying to hide, but isn't that a violation of my rights? ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Unpaid judgments accrue interest, that is a fact and part of the law. So, what you will owe is NOT just what the creditor sued you for, but that interest on the judgment itself will keep adding on to the balance.

The lawyer CAN take you to court for a debtor's exam and you MUST answer all the questions or be held in contempt. You will have to give them ALL the information they want - SS#, employer's info, income, ALL your bank accounts, property - you name it they're going to ask it. Then they'll probably garnish your wages and/or grab your bank account.
