What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Hawaii

15 years ago I may have fathered a child from an encounter with a visitor from France here on a travel VISA. No paternal testing ever took place. Prior to her departure she told me that she was pregnant and the child was mine. While I wanted no part of parental responsibility at that time, I urged her to terminate. She advised that if she opted to keep the child then it would be in her home country, and I would not be involved in any way. I have not heard from her since, so I presumed that she did not have the child or was raising the child as the sole parent. I was recently contacted via email by a 15 year old girl from France indicating that she thinks I'm her father (that she never knew) and to please contact her. The dates line up that I could be the father, but this has never been officially determined. To date, I have made no return contact, nor do I wish to engage as a parent at this stage of my life, but my question is: What are my potential legal responsibilities should the mother or child opt to pursue and it is validated that I am the father?

Depends on what happens in the French courts. Without knowing that it's impossible to guess.
