What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY
I am the executor of my late father's Estate. All of his assets are in the United States with the exception of one vacation apartment over seas. My father passed away here in the USA with a Will but no drawn Will in the country of the vacation apartment. I've have been told that the overseas apartment must be probated by the overseas country as if there was no Will. Can then the probate court in NY close the Estate without addressing the foreign property since it is of foreign jursidiction ?
