What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? OK & Tx
I intend to divorce my wife in the very near future. As such I expect that she will return to the UK or the Seychelle Islands and will, probably, request custody of our son.
My attorney believes that I have a good case to gain custody and remain in the US with him.
My question;
Are child support orders valid internationally / in the UK ?

Thanks in advance for your help.....

Didn't know which state you were asking about since you listed two but, both TX and OK have established reciprocity with the UK. A child support order would be valid & honored there.

Valid and honored here? (UK) Just like that? I am afraid that it doesn't quite work that way.

The reciprocity agreement would need to be enforced.

For example, I live in the UK. I have a court order from the state of Florida to pay child support. (Which also has a reciprocity agreement with the United States)

I have probably worked 5 jobs since I got here.

Some of the companies that I have worked in the UK have been "big hitters" that are headquartered in the United States.

As I have job hopped in an effort to better myself, I have noticed one constant.

NO company that I work for will honor that agreement. Even HUGE US based firms refuse to honor it. Doesn't matter who I talk to in payroll, HR, etc.

I have gone to CSA twice in person, who is very clearl with me.

"US matter, we won't get involved"

Same thing over the phone.

I have contacted the appropriate courthouse here who is actually in charge of getting these things enforced.

They discouraged me from getting it enforced.

So what do I do? I just pay it myself, and I incurr the expenses of exchanging money and all of the other bank fees (believe me not so cheap)

In a nutshell, you had better hope that your soon to be ex-wife agrees with the American principle of paying child support, because I sure don't...and I don't know anyone else here who does.

Just letting you know what reality is like here....you or anyone else doesn't have to like me for it.

I have read your previous posts and it is obvious that you are plotting to not only divorce your wife but to deprive her of custody of your child, getting down to timelines to prevent her from remaining in this country to make your claim to custody stronger. Is that also your reason for moving across the boarder into Texas to get a stronger custody case and then you claim there is no history of abuse? Yeah, I know the section of the laws about international child abduction and can see what you are plotting. Your attorney may think you have a strong case for custody but you know better because you know what you have done and not told your attorney, and there is a big diference between custody between citizens and non citizens. You also know if there is any claim of abuse and what you are doing could be seen as abuse, she has a right to remove the child no matter the custody, so you need to get honest real quick, with your self, your attorney and with your wife, you two need to cooporate in your divorce and custody, not play the game of someone has to win or lose it all. BTW you could lose your status too if you are not careful.
