What is the name of your state? California

Hi there,

I am getting ready to launch an online auction web site similar to ebay (but targeting San Diego County). We have the web site up and running but we need a user agreement / terms & conditions. I'm looking through ebay's and smaller auction sites and it's a little overwhelming for me to try to figure out how to duplicate a lot of their stuff without COPYING it. I do not intend to copy but need to include basically the same information. Any suggestions? Do you know of any pre-made contracts for this sort of thing? Any idea what this might cost us? Thanks in advance for your help and advice. The site (not quite ready for the public) is at http://www.getitgone.com

In reponse to your question.

1. Ebay is not an auctioneer, just a venue. http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/hub.html

2. If I were you in construction this agreement: terms and conditions, I would follow the letter of the law in California, i.e. commercial code. Visit here to learn more. Knowledge dosen' t cost anything, just the effort behind it. http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html

A wise man once said to never doubt the obvious. Uncertainty only stems from the lack of effort.

Thx for the URL link.

In creating your site, hopefully you will have up- front, honest sellers. You might want to read Cisco94560's other entries in several other forums. Sure has given me a whole new outlook on Internet auctions!
