If a person post's their experience about a product or service they received from a business, (and its true in their opinion), can the person who posted their opinion be sued? Also, can the person or company whose website the opinion appeared on be sued?

Thanks,
Mike in Ohio

Just the opposite...

What state are you in?
Montana (Other party is in Illinois)

I am very interested in hearing the answer to this as well!

I have a similar situation, but my situation is one that the other party (business) may have potentially posted libel / slander / defamation against my business on a public forum which is specific to the industry that I operate my business.

What do I do to stop this snowball effect?

Is this considered Libel enough to have a case?

Is there legal recourse against emailing / disclosing another persons personal information (more specifically sending out contracts that have my full name, business name, address, phone number, signatures, etc.) to people over the internet without my permission?

ALSO:

Isn't there a law against advising someone to default contract provisions when one doesn't have a license to practice law?

ALSO:

Is anyone familiar with Federal Law?

If so, could you please tell more specifically (interpret) how this reads (below) and if it may ALSO apply to my situation:

"Whoever, with intent to extort from any person any money or
other thing of value, knowingly so deposits or causes to be
delivered, as aforesaid, any communication, with or without a name
or designating mark subscribed thereto, addressed to any other
person and containing any threat to injure the property or
reputation of the addressee or of another, or the reputation of a
deceased person, or any threat to accuse the addressee or any other
person of a crime, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned
not more than two years, or both."

Advice is greatly appreciated.
