I live in a comunity called Candlewick Lake and started a website Candlewicklake.com about a year ago. I heard that they might trade mark there name Candlewick Lake. Will they beable to take Candlewicklake.com away from me if they do trade mark the name?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Sometimes they may be able to take the trademark away from you under what is called squatting on other's rights. This usually occurs with celebrities. The most famous one is Madonna.com, where the guy who purchased it was squatting on madonna's name and thus the trademark was ordered back to her.
