What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Oregon.

Hello,

My question is this:

I have a time share that I'd like to use as a prize
in a drawing or raffle. I'd like to sell x amount of
chances to win for x amount of dollars.

The winner will receive one week free at my time share
resort.

How can I word this, or how should I "put" this?

I run an internet business and have a large list
I'd be sending this offer to, so I guess it concerns
Internet Laws too.

Any help anyone can give will be very much
appreciated!

Thanks,

Lisa Sorensen

What you propose is called gambling and is illegal if done using the internet. Google Oregon "gambling laws" for more info if you want to run your little contest locally.

I don't know where my reply went (perhaps there was more than two threads on the subject), but it's not legal to conduct a lottery/raffle in Oregon except for certain religious/fraternal organizations and they need a permit to do so.
