What is the name of your state? NC
This was an internet scam begun by mother and son and possibly his wife. They auctioned scopes on two websites and sold many to a lot of people. Scam was detected but not before I sent them almost $6,000. I am guessing but I think probably they sold several hundred scopes which they didn't have. This was in October, 2005. IT was turned over to a Det. in Cookeville TN who has since sat on his butt and done nothing. A few people have received refunds, but nothing major. The website was closed and they no longer sell there, but wife has a new site and is selling knives again on it. USPS postal inspector was contacted and reports filed. The lady scammer used to work for local Cookeville PD. I was told by CAlifornia attorney to file Complacency charges against the Det. for not arrestting, etc. My question is what can I do as a resident of NC to get my money back or have the scammers put in jail and tried for illegal business practices. Seems that Cookeville PD along with the legal system there has been in a legal bind over many corruptions. Everyone seems to give us the run around including local DA, PD and Sheriff's office and even Attorney General's office. They say so much, but do absolutely nothing. No one has been tried, arrested or even questioned in custody. Think they are trying to keep stalling until statue of limiations takes over. Any help and where I might do or what I might do relative to this case. I am sure I can get others to go along with a class action in this matter. There are many states involved and the postal system was used to deliver all payments and they were in form of cashier's checks or USPS money orders and any scopes that might have been received were shipped via USPS priority mail and several phone calls were received both on my cell phone and business phone. Thanks with any help

SD, he really did ask a question (highlighted for you to find in the middle of the ramblings). However, he started the post by saying that the scam/crime was committed by his wife, son, and daughter-in-law! And he sent them $6000 in the mail, out of state.

MY question relative to scam

My post was quite simply that a mother, not mine, and her son and possibly her son's wife, scammed to the tune of about $100,000 via the internet from the great town of Cookeville, TN. Seems no law enforcement office is doing a darn thing relative to this and we have yet to have any one arressted and it has been a year already. My question is, since I am a resident of NC and they are from TN and also we used the USPS mail, which has also been turned over to Postal Inspectors but nothing done, what the heck can I do to get my money back or see that no one else is scammed by this duo of crooks. Seems no one wants to help or has any answers. Thank you.

Also, I didn't say in the original posting, my mother or son. I said by a mother and son, and possibly his wife. Read it again.
