On March 13 2000, I signed an agreement with an internet server for 36 months, in return for a rebate on a computer.
My payments are billed to my credit card.
Sometime in June of 2000, I signed up for a "two bundle package"
that's when you get two internet servers for a little more money.
I decided not to accept that package deal within the "free month" trial period. I informed both ISP's that I am canceling and would just resume my 36 month contract with initial ISP.
For the next several months I noticed I was not being billed for the ISP service. So I called them, November 2000, to inform them of what was happening. They said I fell through the cracks when they had me down for the two package bundle. They thought the other ISP was billing me. They also said I would not be billed for the time they did not bill me nor would they extend my contract.
That was 19 months ago. I had not been billed ever since.
Frankly, I thought if they messed up again, then it was their fault.
This week, May 2002, I received a letter stating they had inadvertently not billed me for the past 19 months. They said they would not bill me for that time, but will extend my contract for another 30 months to fullfill my contract obligation. my original contract would end February 2003. They want to extend it to October 13, 2004.
My question is, where to I stand legally? Can they change the contract for what they "inadvertently" did not bill me for all this time? They also said I can cancel my contract if I pay them the rebate they gave me for the computer. Where do I stand? I live in Pennsylvania.

Why dont you pay back the rebate and be done with it ? There are so many options for better internet connections now Like phone line DSL or cable connected modem service, satelite based connections too . Or even lower cost dial up services that can be cheaper than a offer tied to access for example If you bought a computer with a offer tied to aol dial up services 3 yrs of aol is 862$ or say it was another ISP priced at 19.95 add up your savings if you pay back the rebate . and then your free to use what ever you want to for access. and even in rural places like where i am there is more than 1 company to connect with out there .
