Interview required??

What is the name of your state? New Mexico. I am a supervisor where I work. I need to know if I am required to interview every single applicant.

Good heavens, no. You wouldn't do anything BUT interview if that were the case.

Pick the top five or six, interview them, and put the rest aside. You can always go back to them if you don't like anyone in the group you do interview.

I am currently interviewing for a Process Engineer. Today a clown applied, I don't mean some guy that acted like a clown, I mean the guy is an actual clown. Can you imagine if I had to interview each person that applied regardless of their qualifications??? Take CBG's advice, pick out the top 5 candidates based on their application and resume and work from there.

Hey, how do you know that the clown wasn't qualified? Who do you think figures out how to fit all those clowns in a Volkswagen?

Personally, I can't stand clowns, thank goodness they are not in a protected class huh??

Thanks for the advice. I didn't think I had to, but I have a couple of workers who are mad because I hired someone and didn't interview the people they thought I should of.
