Three years ago we signed a housing rental contract. We paid the rent, security deposit, and last month rent. Rather than give us a receipt the realtor marked PAID on the contract and signed it.

Two weeks ago the realtor pressured us into signing a three-month contract since the old had expired. When I went to pick up the contract I was hastily on my way to an interview. The realtor refused to allow me to take the contract to read and insisted everything was the same. She said it was urgent they have it for the housing association as its required. Without reading the contract I signed. Since my husband was out of town she insisted I forge his signature. I expressed my dislike and forged. The realtor did not give me a copy. Tonight I received a voice mail stating my original contract showing the last month rent paid was invalid since the new contract said we never paid it. Would this new contract be invalid under the circumstance?

Thanks, Lorri

You commit fraud and then wish for a magistrate to intervene on your behalf? Hmmmm.

No copy? Demand one.

Forged sig? I don't know what a judge would decide, but unless there was collusion with the realtor, I would find against you. You signed. You forged.
