I received my diploma in 2004 after paying for a lost textbook. It has recently come to my attention that I was deficient 1 credit out of 24, 2 years regular scheduling, 2 years blocked. The school district is claiming that this invalidates my high school diploma. Apparently, I received a failing mark during my 12th year in a language arts class. However, the teacher of that class is a change agent; he used behavior modification, values clarification, the Delphi technique, and other such chicanery in an attempt to change the attitudes, values, beliefs, and opinions of the students. The curriculum was formatted on an outcome-based education (OBE) model. Furthermore, the teacher did not use a traditional performance-based grading scale; he graded students with a point system and group projects. The report card I received 2 months after receiving my diploma showed the class grades, and the failure mark, as well as my total GPA. There was no pass/fail marking. I am now a 2nd year undergrad bio major student. All of my FAFSA applications have been granted. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue, or should I start running in circles and spend the rest of my day in an asylum?
