What is the name of your state? wisconsin

i was just wondering what the normal time to investigate the possibility of child abuse normally takes. i have been waiting for reports from the CSW since early Dec and they are saying they can not give me the report because the case is still active. is this normal for this length of time after telling us there wasn't enough evidence to begin with? they are aware that my attorney is waiting for these reports and it seems like they just don't want to give them up. the police have also been asking for it from them so they can finish their reports also.

thanks

Time will vary on case basis. The police should have no problems in receiving information for their "in house" use but the fact that the case is "under investigation" will not allow for others outside of law enforcement/cps to have access.

The case must remain "open" at least 3 months - regardless if it is clearly "unfound" or not. Depending on the case, it can be active a long time for investigative reasons. The parent(s) being investigated will get a letter stating of the outcome. Don't expect the letter for at least 6 months, that's if your lucky.
