I RESIGNED MY POSITION AS A NURSE AT A COMMUNITY HOSPITAL AFTER 27+ YEARS OF SERVICE
UP UNTILL THREE YEARS AGO THE HOSP.POLICY WAS ANY UNUSED SICK TIME WAS ACCUMULATED WHEN THEY CHANGED THE POLICY TO THE IPP PLAN ALL MY ACCUMULATED HRS. WERE WERE TRANSFERED TO THE NEW PLAN, MY EMPOLYER SAID THIS PLAN WAS INSURANCE IN CASE I WAS OUT SICK FOR A LONG PERIOD.I NEVER USED ANY OF THIS TIME AND I HAD A TOTAL OF 545 HRS (LISTED ON MY PAY STUB UNDER IPP HRS.)WHEN I LEFT. MY EMPLOYER SAID I AM NOT ENTITLED TO ANY OF THIS PAY.IF I HAD TAKEN THE TIME OFF I WOULD HAVE BEEN PAID FOR THESE HRS.IT SEEMS THAT I AM BEING PENALIZED FOR GOING IN TO WORK WHEN I WAS SICK. THERE IS NO UNION AT THE HOSPITAL.I WROTE A LETTER TO THE ADMIN. SHOULD I PERSUE THIS ANY FURTHER?
