What is the name of your state? vt what if you tell your employer you did not receive the money that he sent a w-2 for to the irs and they do nothing to change it. I called the irs and they told me to wait until june 15th, and they will issue a letter, then to respond. Plus the employer sent out this w-2 to others with high amounts of money they never received either and they got these w-2's in march. And to add another note, the employers family members did not get w-2's for their time working since the employer said he didnt have to, he paid them out of his own pocket, and some other employees asked for a w-2 in which they never got one! How do you report all this????? faith

Are you certain that you are not comparing gross income (before taxes) and net income (after taxes)? Falsifying W2s by taking an employee's income up increases employer taxes for the employer, therefore it would be a pretty stupid way to cheat.

No. The 1000 on one w-2 was never paid to one employee, it was 600.00. So the tax preparer said that since taxes were never deducted they could gross up the 600.00 to a thousand as earned income, yet, the federal and state boxes on the w-2 are blank.

This makes no sense? What tax preparer are you talking about? One that you consulted or one that they consulted?

Are the social security and medicare boxes also blank?

If they paid you 600.00 net, then its possible that your gross could have been 1000.00, but not unless they withheld at least federal income tax, social security and medicare taxes, and probably state tax too.

Do you have any proof that they only paid you 600.00?
