Is getting a lawyer worth it?

I have heard that court costs are very high with a lawyer. So what's so bad about representing yourself? Assuming you take a few weeks and do some research on old cases, and read the rules & regulations, wouldn't that be good enough?

Small claims can usually be handled PRO SE. This thread is so vague. No state mentioned and not further details. Yes, most people can find stuff on their own and if needed, get helpful advice on the net or look thru legal libraries or search the internet for answers on their own.

Sure, the OP ignored rules. But the thread continues anyway. Why go on? Tell the OP what he wants to hear.

OP – you’re absolutely right. Keep it a secret but, aside from a couple of weeks learning how to prepare cases using Google and bill for outrageous amounts, lawyers just spend those years in school drinking beer and partying. A few weeks reading some old cases should be enough for anything that you plan to do.

Or more accurately... Since you are NOT in the USA... give the judge 40 rupees (rubles, dinar or whatever) and give him a wink with your right eye (don't use your left, or the judge will think you want a date!!)... and turn and walk away. If they don't shoot you in the back... you're safe!!!
