you could hire a PI to follow him for 3-4 days, why is he talking to your son about why he can't pay cs, many states now don't base child support on if the ncp is working, they owe a flat amount per month working or not, is he on garnishment or does he pay you directly? if he pays you directly ask the child support agency to take over, they will know when he gets a job with any type of real company because his ssn is flagged. if he is in arrears take him back to court.

the cs order was issued on his income from last years taxes...it will be garnished and he is almost $4000 in the hole I was just wondering if there was any way I could find out if he was working or not the caseworkers at child support are pretty slow around here I know that because I was paying it and when the kids moved back in with me in june of last year they just this month stopped taking it out of my check so i thought if i could do some checking on it myself maybe i could help "speed up" the process

have a pi follow him for 3-4 days, most people only get 2 days in a row off so that time span should certainly show if he goes to work, pictures of him working would be nice.

What county in Ohio?

The links that I have looked at are county specific.

The easiest thing would be to sign up for CSE assistance. They will take his employment (they will need some input, so anything you know would speed it up).

It doesn't have to be anything official for the PI. You could do it, a friend could do it -- ANYONE.

Just take the name of the company to the CSE office and they will send out a questionaire to verify the information. IF he is employed there, they will file for the wage with-holding.

There are no costs or legal fees for you if you use their services. They will also be able to flag his social security number for federal and state tax interceptions. It also puts your case in the system --- they will track him after that, so if he starts quitting jobs to avoid the wage with-holding it is documented. It also puts the case in the system for periodical reviews (usually every 3 years)

And in most cases.....if the NCP is not employed, the courts would input a wage for what they are capable of making (considering factors like health, skills and education).

You mention not employed ---- quit or fired? Is he receive unemployment benefits? CSE could go after that as well.
