Is hire lawyer for Divorce is right decision in India ?

My sister decided to separate from her spouse and filed the case in court. Initially, Our Lawyer said that the decision will be in my sister's favor and it will not take longer than a year. Now it has been completed 5 years still we are fighting for Judgement. Please Do suggest me what we have to do in this situation.
