What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana
Long story short..... I was appointed PR of my mother's estate on June 5th. She passed away March 24th in a house fire. Up until June 5th, my sister (appointed in the will as Executor, but never filed with the courts) was dealing with the Insurance. They paid her the house insurance. I have no idea how much. The personal property insurance was put on hold due to the summons the insurance received, to hand over all info to my attorney. I find out tonight, that the insurance co. has since paid the personal property. Apparently to my sister. Even though they have documents stating that I am PR. and have been since the 5th. I am calling the attorney first thing in the morning, but was hoping for some insite from here to ease my mind.
