TOO LATE TO COLLECT PENSION/SOC.SEC?...

Was married for 13 yrs as a housewife, state of, WA and my husband acted as our attorney and filed divorce papers. Pension or soc.sec. was not part of the agreement because frankly, I didn't think about it. Now several years later I find myself without enough retirement. Is it too late to collect what is owed me? I never remarried, tho he did.

I do not believe there is anything you can do about the pension. However, since you were married more than 10 years, you qualify for SS benefits based on 50% of your ex-husband's. That's something administered by the Social Security Administration and does not require something to be written in your divorce decree.
