What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Pennsylvania
I like to do parkour which calls for me to go on buildings, the other day friend and I went on my high school the other day because he did not believe I could get us up there. We did not cause any destruction to the building whatsoever but when we were up there I was seen by someone and they told administration. They might have me on camera going up and down but I do not currently have any knowledge of this. Is it illegal that I was up there and if so what could the penalties be for it? I was approached earlier today about it and I denied going up there while making a story up as to where I was.

There are places in schools and other buildings were only AUTHORIZED persons are allowed to go. The roof is usually one of those places, primarily because of the liability the building management or occupants may have by allowing an unauthorized person to be there.

What you did would be considered trespassing. And yes, trespassing is illegal.

I suggest you get your story straight and come clean. Your presence there will very likely be disclosed by the camera recording. Being honest and taking responsibility will likely have a better outcome than lying, getting caught lying, and being charged with trespassing.

Your hobby does not require you to trespass, and if it does I suggest you find a new hobby.

An honorable person does not lie to get out of trouble.

Agree with the lying, don't agree that honestly will free the soul --- honesty can end you up with a charge. Stop talking about the issue any further.
