I seperated from my wife roughly 5 months ago. A piece of mail came to my old address that she still resides in and she opened it (i know this is illegal as her name wasnt on it). She then proceeded to share a photo of the enclosed first page which has my loan number and some payment information with another person. Is this legal? She lives in michigan and i am in maryland. What's your goal here? Do you want her put in federal prison for tampering with the US mail? You probably do but, reality check, it's never going to happen because the government and law enforcement agencies have better things to do than get in the middle of squabbles with your wife.

Have your mail forwarded and freeze your credit. Both are free.

Be sure to formally revoke a POA you gave to her. If she was listed on your medical files as authorized to receive medical and financial information, take care of withdrawing that too. People often forget they have these details open.
