What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? nc

I have purchased a car on the lot with bank financing. This was EIGHT DAYS ago. My husband and I signed all the contract papers.gave them all the info they asked for. I have a tag coming, I have insurance on the new vehicle. They said we were approved and handed us the keys. They are telling me NOW that the bank didn't approve our income and that we have to return the vehicle to the lot and get back our trade in, which they said they were going to scrap. I dont want that car back because I don't know if they did anything to it over the past week. Is this legal? Do I have to give them back the car even though I haven't defaulted on the loan that I signed for? I need to know whether to give it back or not and shouldn't the lot be held responsible somehow for this? I have showed the vehicle to my friends and family! This causing me very much heartache and mental anguish! Are they not breaching some sort of verbal contract?

Go through all the papers you signed. You may very well have to return the car to the lot and pay for mileage on it. Can you secure financing yourself?
