What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

Someone serving a summons to tell a neighbor they are looking for me TO serve me a summons? They didn't say what it was for, but just wondering because they told them what they were looking for me for instead of just asking if I lived in the residence.

Also, the man parked clear back in my parents' driveway, out of range of the security system and did not appear for quite awhile. Why would he do that? What are my parents' rights, as well, concerning him being that far up on their property--he was parked clear back by the back yard.

Not particularly, since I am in the middle of a family court case, as well, and that wasn't the point of the posted question.

You must realize that almost all info concerning civil lawsuits are considered public information and it is not illegal to release this info. Some places put the pictures of scofflaws on billboards so the public can help find them. As far as the guy on your parents property, as long as he did not open any gates or doors to hide, and was not told to leave because he was trespassing, he did nothing illegal.
