What is the name of your state? Texas

I am curious as to if it is legal for larger companies to require that you be able to speak Spanish in order to be hired.
I recently applied for a job, the description said nothing about bilingual, etc. and was told that the only reason they wouldn't hire me is that they require their employees to speak Spanish. This is not the first company that this has happened with. In fact, in order to get anything above fast food work anymore in my area, they say you have to speak Spanish to even apply.
Is this legal?

You're in Texas where there's a very substantial Hispanic population. Of course an employer may require English and Spanish language skills. This is perfectly legal.
