I live in Southeast Ga. I think my ex, whom I have a daughter with, may have signed her rights over to her parents. Would that be possible considering I pay my ex child support so they know I'm not dead? Can that be done without my consent? I need to know more info about this so I can find out what I need to do as far as getting my child support case closed. I'm not going to pay my ex child support if she isn't even taking care of our daughter. Please help me answer this before I spend money on a lawyer if I dont need to. Thanks! :)

1.) I am the fathers current wife. I am the one who posted this question for my husband.

2.) And yes, the child support comes directly out of his check and goes to child support enforcement office in our county not hers.

AHA: I wrote what my husband asked me to write. If you aren't on here to give advice about real matters please don't give me your input on what you think I need to be writing on here.

Please have your husband register.

There IS a reason why most posters refrain from answering third party questions.

Drop the 'tude, read through older posts and you'll understand that's why it is :)

It is NOT your info to confide quite frankly. And it is NOT confiding when you post it on the INTERNET. You are rather confused.

Wow...when I read the question I was thinking..."this guy is so uninvolved with his daughter that he doesn't even know that his daughter's grandparents might have adopted her?".

Then I read the lovely comment that they know he isn't dead because he pays his child support. Why does he have no contact with the child?

THEN i read that the reason "his wife" asked the question is so they can QUIT paying child support.

What a peach! Do people have no shame anymore? I can see why sweetheart of a wife #2 is asking...she is not required to care one bit about the child (although I want to stress how poorly this reflects on her),,,but the Father??

How sad for the child. And what a sad excuse for a Father he is. Not worried about her one bit...but want to try to get out of paying the money...THAT they BOTH care a heck of a lot about.

For his daughter's sake, me , a perfect stranger, hope that her Grandparent's did adopt her. I guess I care more about her welfare than her own Father.

The mean part of me hopes Father has to pay child support anyway. What a pair of a$$es. UGH

No one is forcing you to hang around and lie some more, so bye bye.
