What is the name of your state? FL

My ex was ordered to carry health insurance on our son and he applied for and receives Medicaid for him as well as his other child that lives with him. Our son does not even live in that state. Is this legal? And if so, does it qualify for health insurance as ordered in our divorce decree?

No. Your son isn't even eligible for the state's medicaid program b/c he doesn't live there.

File contempt.

You might also look into what other benefits your ex has applied for. If he managed to get insurance he may have other benefits that his state is going to want to be repaid for. Contact the human services office in his area to report who the CP really is and make sure he's not getting any other benefits and that the insurance is canceled immediately.
